The review
We tested Studio and Auto Reels on September 28, 2026. They are separate workflows and behaved differently. Studio created a preview with voice, captions and editing controls, but export hit an upgrade prompt. That preview was not a free downloadable Studio result.
An earlier Studio render had a duration-validation error. An explicit 60-second setting allowed rendering to proceed. That correction did not remove the later export gate.
Auto Reels used one credit and delivered a 35-second watermarked MP4. Its generated narration included rankings and claims we did not independently verify. We do not endorse that advice. Review and rewrite generated claims before using a result.
The account started with four lifetime credits and used three during the test. The October 7 capability sweep still found one remaining non-expiring credit. This is not a monthly production allowance.
The current public pricing page says Free has four lifetime credits, with a Made with Vidpal.ai watermark. It describes one-credit Reels, carousels, AI Editing uploads and AI Clips extractions. The AI Editing route is more specific: one credit to upload plus one for each render, so a new upload and one render can use two. We did not test Editing, Clips, avatar or scheduling.
Long-form video and AI avatar are locked on Free. Paid features exist, but FreeStack does not buy plans or test paid functionality. At annual billing, the public page lists Starter $144/year ($12/month equivalent), Pro $276/year ($23/month equivalent), and Business $492/year ($41/month equivalent). One remaining credit may cover a carousel, which we have not tested. It cannot fund a new two-credit Editing upload and render. The original video remains a Studio and Auto Reels review, not complete coverage of every free route.
Our verdict is to try the workflow with the small free allowance, while checking the export route and fact-checking generated claims. The Studio export gate and watermark limit how much this one-time trial proves for a real publishing job.
The catch
Studio export required an upgrade in our test. Auto Reels output carried a watermark. Lifetime credits do not refill monthly. Stock/brand permissions remain a release check.
