Systeme.io: what the free plan really gets you

Most "free" funnel tools are trials with the timer hidden. Systeme.io is the rare one where the free plan is a plan, not a countdown: it never expires, it never asks for a card, and the limits are printed on the pricing page instead of discovered at the worst moment. We checked every number in the table above against systeme.io/pricing on September 19, 2026, and we re-check before a review goes live - if a limit moves, the table moves with it.

To test it the way we test everything, we built a real business asset on it: the bio page and lead funnel behind our own launch, start to finish, in one sitting. Pages, email capture, automation, delivery - all of it ran on the free tier, and it is still running now. Nothing was staged for the review: the funnel in the video is the funnel we actually use, and the screenshots on this page are from the account it runs on.

Where it stops: one campaign, one automation rule and one workflow means the free plan runs one project, not a portfolio. If you are imagining three funnels for three ideas, the free tier will not stretch - pick your most important project and give it the slot. Fifteen funnel steps is plenty for a lead funnel (opt-in, thank-you, delivery) but tight for a multi-step sales flow with order bumps and upsells. And the platform badge on your pages is the honest price of $0: visitors will see it, and removing it costs money.

None of that is a gotcha - it is a boundary drawn in advance, which is more than most tools in this category will give you. If your first project outgrows it, the step up is $17/month, the cheapest real upgrade in the category.

Who should take it: anyone validating a first idea who needs a funnel, an email list and a way to deliver a lead magnet this week, for nothing. The 2,000-contact ceiling is generous at this stage - most first funnels take months to fill it - and unlimited email sends mean the list you build is actually usable, not decorative.

Who should skip it: anyone running multiple brands, or anyone whose business already lives on automation. One automation rule covers a welcome email and nothing else - no tag-based sequences, no conditional logic. If that sounds like a dealbreaker, the free plan is a look around, not a home.
