What $0 gets you
Vendor pricing and our observed account limits are separated below. Test-account allocations are not a promise for every signup.
The review
We built Sparkclass, a real mini-course with four original video lessons and a four-page PDF workbook. The course teaches how to choose an outcome, plan a curriculum, make materials and test the learner journey. It makes no income promise.
Payhip separates the course content from the storefront. We changed the sales-page heading and offer copy and removed a sample section. Useful course content still has to come from you; the platform does not bring an audience.
We enrolled a separate learner at $0 and verified that the first and fourth lessons played. The workbook appeared below the fourth lesson. Its authenticated download matched our original file in an off-camera byte check.
We then added a $5 plan alongside the original free test plan because the existing plan price could not be edited. Checkout showed a $5 total in USD. We did not pay, so this does not prove processing fees, settlement or a payout. After testing the course returned to Draft.
Current pricing lists Free Forever at $0/month plus 5%, Plus at $29/month plus 2%, and Pro at $99/month with no Payhip transaction fee. Payment-processor fees remain extra. The page lists the same features with unlimited products and revenue.
We used unlisted YouTube embeds and did not buy native video hosting. Payhip's separate subscription is $5/month for sixteen hours of stored video. An unlisted link can be viewed by anyone who receives it; it is not strong course-access protection.
The free learner journey worked in our limited test. Choose hosting deliberately, keep the offer honest and do not call a priced checkout a completed payment.
The catch
Free to start does not mean free to sell. Native video hosting is a separate $5/month subscription. Unlisted YouTube embeds are not locked-down course protection.

Payhip free plan: questions people ask
Did FreeStack test every Payhip feature?
No. This review covers the workflows and limits stated above. Menus alone do not prove working features.
A strong starting point for a first useful course or digital product. Test the learner experience and budget for fees.
