Every number below is from our recorded free-plan test on October 19, 2026, cross-checked October 20 against Higgsfield's pricing page, its Terms of Use (Section 4.4) and the help-center article on ownership and commercial use. Not marketing copy - the actual limits.

The review

We tested only the free plan, no card. Test one: a product shot for Fizzlune, a soda brand we made up. One prompt in Nano Banana Pro, 38 seconds, and the can label reads FIZZLUNE letter for letter.

Test two is hard for most image models: text. A retro travel poster for Kepler-22b came back in 32 seconds with clean poster text. Our prompt box still held the first prompt, so it drew both - we report the run as it happened.

Test three ran one prompt on both models: a tiny rainy street inside a glass jar. FLUX.2 Pro took 12 seconds, Nano Banana Pro 38 - same prompt, two different looks.

Test four: a fictional arctic explorer on both models. FLUX.2 Pro took 17 seconds, Nano Banana Pro 67. That used all 10 credits: four images on Nano Banana Pro at 2 credits each, two on FLUX.2 Pro at 1. The seventh click was out of credits. Higgsfield calls them daily credits, but we saw no reset during our test.

The limits are clear. Every free image carries a Higgsfield AI watermark, bottom right. And video is not part of the free plan: picking a video model asks you to upgrade first.

On commercial use: Section 4.4 of Higgsfield's Terms of Use says the company does not restrict your commercial use of outputs, on any plan, and the help center confirms there is no separate commercial license to buy - ads, client work and YouTube monetization are all covered. Higgsfield's own pricing table lists "Commercial use" as a paid-plan feature, which conflicts with the written terms; we quote both and note the contradiction. The practical catch is the watermark: the help center itself says publishing watermarked content in commercial contexts may not fit, and paid plans include watermark-free downloads.

Paid plans, checked October 20, 2026: Starter is $19 a month for 270 credits (about 135 Nano Banana Pro images), removes the watermark and adds video models like Seedance 2.0 Fast; annual billing costs the same. Plus at $59 adds start and end frames, Higgsfield Speak and 7-day unlimited windows. Ultra is $129, team plans from $65.

Our verdict: a free test drive for top image models, not a free studio. Six images with a watermark on each and no video is enough to judge image quality before you pay - and per the written terms, what you make is yours to use, watermark included.

The catch

Only 10 credits (6 images), no video on free, and a Higgsfield AI watermark on every image. Watermark-free downloads need a paid plan.
