Hercules Free Plan: Best $0 App Builder Out There?
From an app idea to a preview you can click and play.
Watch the actual test
Our recorded overview: an arcade-game preview and a fictional studio portal. Not a comparison or benchmark.
What $0 gets you
What this overview establishes, without treating an observed test-account allowance as a guaranteed current offer.
The review
Hercules is an AI app builder. Describe an app, work through the build and inspect the preview. Our overview follows an arcade game, Can You Survive the Scroll, and a fictional studio portal. These are examples of the workflow, not a comparison with another builder or a performance benchmark.
The game preview gives the idea a visible shape: a menu, movement, obstacles and a retry flow. We inspected pause and mute as interface states. The recording has no game audio, so it cannot establish whether the sound worked.
The studio portal presents fictional projects, search, project-detail pages and a client sign-in gate. Those screens are a useful starting point, not proof of secure access control. We did not put real client data into the demo or verify production security.
What I like is seeing an idea become something you can click and play. I would use Hercules to explore a personal app concept and decide what to improve. I would not confuse the first preview with a finished business app. Keep testing permissions, data and real behavior before using it for anything that matters.
The Free tier is for personal, noncommercial apps under the current terms. Business tooling, client work and other commercial use require an appropriate paid plan. We did not buy a top-up or deploy these examples publicly. Our historical account allocation is not a promise about the current signup or monthly offer.
This page is an overview and editorial opinion. It does not publish performance comparisons, benchmark figures, credit-consumption results or game-run scores. Sources: https://hercules.app/legal/terms, checked October 5, 2026; FreeStack recording from October 2, 2026.
Our 4.1/5 editorial grade reflects the useful playable prototypes in this small test. Code portability is a separate plan limit: Hercules states that downloading app code, database exports and files requires Pro or above. Source: https://hercules.app/docs/apps/export-data, checked October 5, 2026.
The catch
Free is for personal, noncommercial apps. Code, database and file export require Pro or above. An early preview is not a finished business app: check permissions, security, data and behavior before real use.
From the actual build
Screens from the same recorded examples as the v5 video. No benchmark results or credit ledger.

The game menu from the recorded preview. This is a workflow example, not a benchmark.

Fictional projects in the studio portal. The on-screen disclaimer says permissions are not complete.

The client sign-in screen. A visible gate does not establish secure access control.
Hercules free plan: questions people ask
Did FreeStack test every Hercules feature?
No. This review covers the workflows and limits stated above. Menus alone do not prove working features.
4.1/5: a useful starting point for a personal app idea. The tested prototypes gave us something we could click and play. Downloading app code requires Pro or above. Security and real-world behavior still need proper testing.
