X adds a free Cursor coding allowance, with limits
The X Subscription adds daily Grok and a limited starter allowance for Cursor coding agents at $0. Paid tiers add shared Grok usage, while Claude and GPT cost extra.

What changed
Global rollout is taking several days. The announcement does not give a fixed count of free coding requests.
New customers can start on the combined subscription. Paid plans use a weekly pool of Grok-model usage across Grok and Cursor. Heavy use in one product can use allowance that would otherwise be available in the other. The multipliers below compare with Plus; they are not a promised count of tasks or finished apps.
Prices exclude applicable taxes and fees. These are stated plan features, not FreeStack test results. Checked October 13, 2026.
Free - $0 - Daily Grok access, limited starter coding-agent allowance and standard X.
Plus - $8 - More Grok and Cursor usage, a premium checkmark, creator tools, advanced analytics and fewer timeline ads.
Premium - $30 - Benefits described as SuperGrok, Cursor Pro and X Premium+ combined. Four times Plus usage, Grok Bot, cloud agents and automations, code hosting and AI code reviews, plus no ads on most X surfaces.
Super - $100 - Fifteen times Plus usage and priority model access at peak times.
Ultra - $200 - Fifty times Plus usage and earliest access to products and models.
Why it matters
The free coding allowance is worth checking for a small task. It is not a claim that Cursor Pro, rival models or unlimited development are now free. The paid bundle is most useful when you want Grok, Cursor and X together. Its value depends on which models you use and how quickly you use the shared pool.

Reality Check
The included pool covers Grok models. Third-party models such as Claude and GPT are available in Cursor on Premium and above, but their usage is not included in the subscription price. It is charged at API list prices from the first use, through prepaid top-ups. A higher tier does not make those models free.
Free access is limited. We have not tested its current request allowance, speed or account availability. Do not treat the announcement as proof that every existing account can use the allowance today.
Before switching an existing plan
Existing subscribers can keep their current plan, price and features for now. The announcement says any later move would come with advance notice. It does not promise permanent grandfathering.
The account documentation says combining eligible accounts is permanent and cannot be undone by support. Switching can end selected old subscriptions with a prorated refund. App-store billing has separate cancellation and refund rules. Compare your current model allowance before switching, especially if you use Claude or GPT.
